Omega Morgan’s machinery moving team performs long-term heavy equipment relocation for a manufacturing company
When an international manufacturing company planned the long-term relocation of multiple US locations to one facility in Lakewood, WA, it needed a reliable machinery moving company that could handle the capacity and timeframe. After contracting our Seattle team, strategic planning began.
LONG-TERM PLANNING & EXECUTION OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT MOVE
Over 300 components, including 115 spindle machines weighing upwards of 54,000 pounds, needed to be received, delivered, and installed. The planning of this project took several months. Our team knew flexibility would be key, as we worked around other contractors and ensured the client’s production value would be unaffected.
In September 2021, our machinery moving team—consisting of three to nine crew members—received the first delivery of machines from New Hampshire. Moving and installing these machines required our 15K, Hoist 40/60, and Versalift 60/80 forklifts. We also utilized our three and four-axle trucks, lowboy, step deck, and double drop trailers.
Over the next year and several months, our team’s strategic planning and solution-oriented approach allowed us to deliver and install the majority of these components under time constraints, manufacturing production requirements, building limitations, and changing installation standards. Still ongoing, Omega Morgan’s machinery moving team continues to impress our client and deliver about one load per week as the project wraps up.
