This role is responsible for driving a safety culture by effectively communicating an enhanced vision, accountability, and metrics across the organization to ensure meaningful improvement in safety performance.  The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in Safety with at least five years of leadership experience overseeing a National Safety Program for an industry-leading company. OSHA/MSHA training is preferred. Advanced education in a safety-related discipline is a plus along with ASSP, CSP, or other EHS Certifications.



  • Develop an understanding and leverage various internal technology platforms (examples include, but are not limited to):
  • Develop safety-related resource materials and conduct safety-related training sessions
  • Support safety managers and field personnel on all safety matters
  • Meet with customers regarding job site safety as necessary
  • Handle other requests in support of Risk Management and Safety functions
  • Advise executive team and operators on safety matters
  • Lead safety committees and participate in operational safety meetings
  • Perform incident investigations and continuously improve our incident investigation process using Root Cause Analysis
  • Interact with regulatory agencies at the Federal, State and Local levels
  • Perform predictive modeling for incident avoidance and claims elimination


Required Experience and/or Education

  • Highly effective leader with the ability to build strong relationships internally with all levels of the organization and manage under difficult service delivery timeframes
  • Familiarity and comfort leading safety initiatives with remote employees located at client sites
  • Change agent that can identify, analyze, and create opportunity for continuous improvement across the organization
  • Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines.
  • Possess high personal integrity and have the ability to instill the same in others
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including highly effective written and oral delivery, with the ability to communicate clear direction and expectations
  • Proven track record of developing and engaging people to achieve superior results. Passionate about coaching and development
  • Understand and effectively enhance the relationship between safety and risk management pursuits
  • Positive and upbeat in a team environment – a motivator
  • Proven success in hiring the best talent and effectively managing team performance
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in web-based applications, computer systems, and programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), to effectively edit and create reports, database entries, and presentation materials
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information and data
